Jesus Calls Us the Salt of the Earth, the Light of the World

In the words of this weekend’s Readings:
“Remove from your midst oppression, false accusation and malicious speech, . . .then light shall rise for you in the darkness.” (Isaiah 58:7-10)
Let the message and proclamation of your life be “a demonstration of Spirit and power” that rests, not on human wisdom but on the “power of God.”
(1 Corinthians 2:1-5)
“You are the salt of the earth. . . . You are the light of the world.” (Matthew 5:13-14)

Let us pray that during this coming week our words and actions will manifest brilliantly that God’s Light shines even in the midst of unsettling situations.
